Now I am no mechanic nor car enthusiast so I definitely don't know much about cars. Because of my lack of knowledge, I have been taken advantage of many times from mechanics who would tell me that my car was in need of major repairs every time I went in for a simple oil change. After getting referred here by a good friend of mine, I can only say that Joel, the owner of Carcanix is by far the most trustworthy person any one could go to for repairs as well as questions on cars. After dropping by for an oil change, he looked over my car parts briefly and was impressed with how well maintained it was and when he saw the previous oil filter that was used in my car, he was very disappointed on how poor quality it was especially after I told him how much I had paid. He did not make any attempt to sell unnecessary parts. Instead, he gave me a little education on how certain parts function as well as their life spans which give me a general idea of when I should replace certain parts. Really helpful as it allows me to do budget planning the next time I need to go in for repairs. As for the wait, it may take some time since it is a small shop with no more than three employees on duty. It his highly recommended that you schedule an appointment at least a week in advance. The wait may be long but they accommodate it by making sure nothing goes wrong with the repairs as well as provide a stack of DVDs (actual movies) to watch while you wait. Generally, your repairs should be done way before you reach halfway of whatever movie you watch unless you are getting extensive work done that requires hours of labor.

Just great. Everyone here is super nice. All the reviews here speak the truth. I never leave reviews, but genuinely I want others to understand that this is a place to put your trust in just as I did after reading the reviews, going in, and landing on an amazing place. As someone new to cars and getting them fixed, I was really lucky to meet Joel and his crew who really gained my trust from day one with their service, kindness, humor, and honesty. My first visit, Joel generously spent over an hour explaining and walking me through all my questions big and small. And as a bonus, on both my visits so far he's taught me so much about cars in general telling me it's good to know these things. It's like any young, lost car owner's dream to have a mechanic you can rely on. He is also transparent and wants to work with his customers to get the best, desired results. I really recommend this place. If you're on a hunt for a life-long mechanic and a shop that you can really trust as your local “go-to” - this is the place. You can really drive with pride and relief knowing you have a place to go if your car needs some help without having to worry about dealing with doubts/concerns that sometimes can often linger in the world of car fixing. I'll be coming back for any future car needs. Can't recommend this place enough. Thanks to Joel and his team!
